The cucumber mesocarp is important for fruit establishment, which determines fruit thickness and the edible ratio of cucumber. However, development of the mesocarp has received little attention. In the present study, the thick mesocarp line D8 and the thin mesocarp line XUE1 were selected to analyze the gene expression profiles of mesocarp at 0, 3, 6, 9 days after pollination (DAP) by RNA-sequencing.
