Our initial studies found that exogenous MeJA promoted floret opening in sorghum. To better understand the molecular mechanisms of exogenous MeJA to floret opening, RNA-seq is employed to analyze the responses and changes of gene expression under different MeJA concentrations. The objective of the current study was to dissect the genetic architecture of flowering time in sorghum and highlight the implications of our findings for sorghum domestication and breeding.
