Human accidental envenomation by venomous animals makes up a public health problem in many tropical countries. This is the first report of a caterpillar-produced venom that can cause an inflammatory process, leading to chondrocyte activation.Therefore, to address the inflammatory mechanisms triggered by the envenomation, we studied the Premolis semirufa hair extract action on human chondrocytes.
