Whitsunday Catchment Landcare Catchment to Coast Project

Project activities will include seed collection, propagation and planting of local native plant species to suppress weeds and restore degraded habitats at the sites described. Site preparation prior to planting will involve various methods of weed control, rubbish removal, mulching and setting up of irrigation systems at some sites. Work at the Airlie Creek site also involves restoration of a public walking track damaged by recent cyclones and work at Cannonvale foreshore includes establishment of local native plant displays in the new botanic gardens.
