Filter Backwash and Dosing Data

Hazen and Sawyer have provided data from a water treatment plant that utilizes filters to treat water by removing contaminants through physical processes. These filters are maintained with backwashing, which removes particles in the filter by reversing the flow with clean water. The dataset consists of four elements: (i) a data frame containing a time series for sixteen filters, which can be used to visualize headloss; (ii) a list of 16 data frames summarizing the data between each backwash; (iii) a data frame containing a large collection of chemical dosing information; and (iv) a data frame derived from the above elements of the list for the purpose of predicting backwashes.
