Govan 21

Govan 21 ([Stirling Maxwell's numbering](https://archive.org/details/sculpturedstone00maxwgoog/page/n40/mode/2up); ECMS 33) is one of 31 early medieval recumbent cross-slabs originally recorded at Govan Old in 1899. This is currently displayed upright and against the wall of the church, but these monuments would have originally laid flat in the churchyard, likely marking the grave of a significant early medieval individual. At some point during its biography, this stone was significantly recut along its edges to remove the outer 'border' typical of the Govan recumbent cross-slab design. This 3D model was created as part of Dr Megan Kasten's PhD, available here: http://theses.gla.ac.uk/74266/. The 3D model was created with SfM photogrammetry, using Agisoft Metashape, and edited with Zbrush.
