Cruise Results: NOAA Research Vessel DELAWARE II, Cruise No. DE 12-02, Winter Ecosystem Monitoring Survey Cruise Results, Cruise NO De 12-02 Winter Ecosystem Monitoring Survey

The NOAA research vessel Delaware II sampled at a total of 151 stations from 2 -21 February 2012. Despite the time of the year, the Delaware II was able to cover most of the survey area. The principal objective of the survey was to conduct a routine monitoring survey of the Northeast U.S. Continental Shelf Ecosystem, including hydrography, Ocean Acidification, dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC), chlorophyll maxima depths and particulate counts and measurements. Plankton samples were collected over the entire survey area, and several midwater trawls were done in the western Gulf of Maine to collect larval and juvenile herring.
