NRS-21215 | Records of the inquiry into the planning of the Kurnell Peninsula

This inquiry was established under Section 119 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (Act No.203, 1979) to consider objections and submissions in respect of the draft Regional Environmental Plan for the Kurnell Peninsula. It was held between June and December 1981 before Commissioners Simpson and O'Connell. (1) The report was made public in June 1982. (2)The records include submissions and correspondence to the Inquiry from a variety of sources, including the Hooker Corporation; T E Breen; the Sutherland Nature Conservation Society; Sutherland Shire Council; the National Parks and Wildlife Service; the State Pollution Control Commission; the Breen Group of Companies; the Holt Group; the Crown Lands Office; the Australian Littoral Society; Abbott Australasia Pty Ltd; the Australian Labor Party; Load Arm Aust. Pty Ltd; N P Williams, and the Metropolitan Waste Disposal Authority.Submissions include written reports, consultants' reports, brochures, photographs, maps, plans and environmental studies of the social and natural environment. There is also an audio cassette tape recording of the commentary to a slide presentation as well as background notes, including objection forms relating to facets of the planning scheme for Kurnell and a copy of the relevant planning ordinance for the area.Endnotes1.
