Comparison of biofilm on different substrate used for oyster larvae settlement

In this study, we investigated the possibility of using clay structures, to cap-ture O. edulis larvae in the wild and under controlled conditions in a hatchery. We also monitored any shift in the microbial biofilm on the surface of the clay substrate over time. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of using clay bricks as a substitute, artificial substrate for largescale restoration of the declining oys-ter population worldwide.
