Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) data of bubble plumes with different bubble sizes generated by two different diffusers

This dataset contains a series of experiments data of images in the laboratory to study bubble plumes under different source conditions: (1) air-stone diffuser, (2) single-orifice diffuser, and (3) each with two different gas flow rates. Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) was used to measure the velocity field of water in the bubble plumes. With different diffusers, we are able to generate different bubble size distribution while maintaining the same gas flow rate. The imagery in this dataset provides new observations of plume velocity with different bubble sizes, population, and flow rates, which can be used to evaluate the integral and turbulent behavior of bubble plumes. 本数据集包含实验室中为研究不同源条件下气泡羽流而开展的系列图像实验数据:(1) 气石扩散器(air-stone diffuser),(2) 单孔扩散器(single-orifice diffuser),且每种扩散器分别对应两种不同的气体流速。本研究采用粒子图像测速(Particle Image Velocimetry,PIV)技术,测量气泡羽流内的水体速度场。通过更换不同扩散器,可在保持恒定气体流速的前提下,生成不同的气泡粒径分布。本数据集包含的图像提供了不同气泡尺寸、数量及流速下的羽流速度新观测结果,可用于评估气泡羽流的整体积分特性与湍流行为。本数据集支撑以下已发表学术成果:Li, G., Wang, B., Wu, H. & DiMarco, S.
