An investigation into transcriptome changes in Aedes aegypti populations from Colombia in response to insecticides used for dengue control.

Investigation into the transcriptome changes in Aedes aegypti populations from Colombian cities which differ in sensitivity to the larvicide temephos. Thisresearch therefore aims to investigate differential gene expression (DGE) using RNAseq in the resistant Cúcuta population incomparison to both the field susceptible population Bello and New Orleans. The use of two susceptible populations (one fieldand one laboratory) enables the identification of differentially expressed genes in comparison to both susceptible strains, hence reducing the confounding effect of geographical differences. A comparison will also be made between larvae unexposed to temephos and those exposed to the LC50 (LC50= 0.06ppm), from the resistant Cúcuta population.
