Symbiodinium ITS2 amplicon sequence diversity of scleractinian corals. coral metagenome

Reef-building corals possess a range of acclimatisation and adaptation mechanisms to respond to sea temperature increases. In some corals, thermal tolerance increases through community composition changes of their dinoflagellate endosymbionts (Symbiodinium spp.). Deep sequencing and analysis of rDNA ITS2 PCR amplicons was used to identify Symbiodinium in a variety of Scleractinian corals.
