The Mycobacterium avium subsp. hominissuis (MAH) is a ubiquitous bacteria found, both in the environment and in immuno-compromised patients. Since the route of MAH infections still remain unknown, newer genomes are necessary to initiate comparative studies and decipher the possible infection routes.Two genomes from clinical isolates are already available in the database. Genomes from environmental MAH are presently missing.The aim of the study was to introduce an environmental MAH from dust so as to facilitate a better understanding of the organism.
