African swine fever is a deadly viral disease in pigs. Recent outbreaks showed that some pigs survive infection and develop antibodies, while others die, suggesting genetic differences may affect resistance. We sequenced the genomes of 474 pigs--108 dead, 222 infected survivors, and 144 uninfected--to study this further.
