Airport Safety Overlay

These polygons are used to identify property that is subject to an avigation easement per Grant County Uniform Development Code Chapter 23.04.645(n). Purpose. The purpose of the airport safety overlay (ASO) zoning district is to recognize and protect the airspace around state and federal system airports from airspace obstructions and hazards and incompatible land uses and to protect public health, safety and general welfare within the ASO zone. Applicability. This section is applicable to new buildings and structures and outdoor activities involving human use or assembly, which lie wholly or in part within the ASO zone of public airports with Airport Imaginary Surfaces defined in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Part 77, "Objects Affecting Navigable Airspace," as shown on the Part 77 Airspace Plan, approach zone, and/or runway protection zone plans for an airport as contained in an airport master plan.
