Dataset of "An experimental and simulation study into natural convection and buoyancy-driven thermal and momentum wake above a horizontal heated bar"

The study presents a comprehensive experimental and computer investigation of natural convection cooling of horizontal bar (conductor) under an electric load and addresses the air flow and temperature distribution above the bar. A coupled thermal-electromagnetic CFD-based simulation model was built in ANSYS Fluent and Maxwell tools. Numerical results were analysed and compared to experimental data obtained in a certified laboratory, aimed at the investigation of a thermal plume and velocity wake above the bar heated by an electrical current within a mockup enclosure. The dataset contains numerical data and graphical representation of data related to the study.
