资源简介:
The FODMAP diet is an efficacious treatment strategy for irritable bowel syndrome, but there remains limited data regarding long-term outcomes. This thesis has provided a comprehensive exploration of the long-term outcomes of education on a low FODMAP diet. Education on a FODMAP diet was effective and safe in most participants followed up for median 6 years, with two-thirds of participants reporting ongoing symptom control. Associations with disordered eating behaviours and risk of nutritional deficiencies were uncommon. Ongoing dietetic follow-up may help to identify patients at risk and allow early intervention strategies. No adverse metabolic or microbiome signals were noted.
