The samples are from DY54 and DY70 voyage in western Pacific and CCFZ. The detailed sample location can be found in the excel file (sheet 4).The data were abtained by EPMA and LA-ICPMS, including "The major and trace elements compositions of coarse-grained fish teeth"(sheet 1), "The major and trace elements compositions of fine-grained fish teeth."(sheet 2) and data of Standards(Sheet 3).The major element contents of fish teeth were obtained at the Key Laboratory of Submarine Geosciences, Ministry of Natural Resources using the JXA-8100 EPMA equipped with four wavelength-dispersive spectrometers (WDS) and one energy-dispersive spectrometer (EDS) at an accelerating voltage of 15 kV, a beam diameter of 10 μm, and a beam current of 20 nA. The detection limits for most major elements analyzed in fish teeth were 0.03 wt.%.The Analyte Excite 193 nm ArF excimer laser ablation system from Teledyne Cetac Technologies and the Agilent 7700x quadrupole ICP-MS from Agilent Technologies at Nanjing FocuMS Technology Co. Ltd was used for the LA-ICP-MS analysis to obtained the REE concentrations of fish teeth. The element quantification was based on the "standard-free matrix normalization method" (Liu et al., 2008), which is suitable for samples with similar matrix types, to improve the accuracy and consistency of element quantification. The NIST SRM 612 and SRM 610 standard glasses were used as external standards, and the USGS basalt standards BCR-2G, BHVO-2G, BIR-1G, as well as the REE-rich apatite reference material (Durango), were also applied for quality control. The result of Durango is consistent with the published result, which excludes the possible error in LA-ICP-MS analysis produced by relatively low REE contents in SRM 612 and SRM 610. The results of fish teeth were calibrated using Ca content from EPMA.
