The growth and development of skeletal muscle is an important factor affecting animal body size and weight, which is elaborately regulated by many genetic and nutritional factors. MicroRNA (miRNA) has been evidenced as an important regulator and received extensive attention, which was related to in the growth and development of skeletal muscle. However, little is known about reports of miRNAs in regulating the growth and development of skeletal muscle in Andrias davidianus (A. davidianus). Here, a systematic investigation of miRNA transcriptomes across five skeletal muscle development stages of A. davidianus were performed respectively by RNA-sequencing.
