Domestic ferret with Bionano hybrid scaffolds. Domestic ferret Bionano assembly

We created Bionano hybrid-scaffold assemblies for the domestic ferret genome assembled with ALLPATHS-LG, using the Bionano Solve software. We generated 664 Gb of Bionano data, with an N50 size of 185 kb and a contig coverage of 261x. Of this, 40% of the molecules aligned back to the Bionano de novo assembly, leaving an effective coverage of 110x. Using the .agp file from Bionano we used ALLMAPS to create a .chain file, which was used in CrossMap to lift over the Ensembl MusPutFur1.0.83 annotation to the new assembly
