The extreme X-ray weakness of PG 0043+039
收藏资源简介:
PG 0043+039 is the most Xray weak quasar known. XMMNewton observation in 2013set a clear detection meaning a flux at least 3.8 times higher than in 2005. Thequasar remained extremely Xray weak, with a peculiar spectral energydistribution (SED) and a unique UV spectrum. This unique source deservesfurther, deeper, observations, to establish its Xray spectrum, its optical tohardXray SED and its variability. We aim at probing our hypothesis that PG0043+039 is a genuine Xray weak quasar and to test alternative scenarios(ADAFs, missing corona, cyclotronemission). We propose to observe PG0043+039quasisimultaneously (2 days) with XMMNewton (20+100ks), NuSTAR (60ks), HST (2orbits), 10m HobbyEberly and 10m SALT Telescope in South Africa. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
