LUMBOSACRAL ANGLES MEASURED BY COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY: CORRELATION WITH SELECTED ANTHROPOMETRIC VARIABLES IN A SOUTH INDIAN POPULATION: A PILOT STUDY
收藏资源简介:
Compared to other countries, the Indian population's lumbosacral spine geometric angles have not been studied adequately. This paper investigates several lumbosacral geometric angles, including lumbosacral angle (LSA), lumbar lordosis angle (LLA), sacral inclination Angle (SIA) and lumbosacral disc angle (LSDA) and correlates these against gender, age, body mass index (BMI) and waist hip ratio (WHR).Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 85 patients who had been referred for computed tomography (CT) of the lumbosacral spine and/or whole spine. Demographic and anthropometric measurements such as height, weight, BMI and WHR were recorded for each patient. Imaging was performed on a MDCT Brilliance 64 Slice Philips and 16 Slice Big Bore CT, using a spine helical protocol. Multi Planar Reconstruction (MPR) was used, with the lumbar and sacral angles being measured on the 2D sagittal plane images.
