Single-cell transcriptomic analysis of the brain microenvironment in mouse models of disease

Brain metastasis begins when disseminated tumor cells (DTCs) enter the brain and engage the local microenvironment, yet early responses remain poorly defined. This BioProject explores microglial gene programs during the earliest stages of metastatic colonization in mice. We profile microglia-enriched single-cell suspensions from a syngeneic brain metastasis model using droplet-based single-cell RNA sequencing and standard analysis. The resulting atlas will identify microglial subpopulations and pathways linked to anti-tumor or pro-tumor functions, informing strategies to modulate microglia early in brain metastasis.
