Aim of the study is to assess the relationships between vaginal microbiota composition, especially Community State Types (CSTs) distribution, and the cervical length on risk of preterm Birth (PTB). We performed a prospective study on a cohort of 46 Caucasian women with a short cervix at risk for PTB, and we characterized microbiota composition by 16S rDNA sequencing from swab vaginal samples.
