These monthly climatology grids were prepared by Legates and Willmott (1990) and are archived at the National Center for Atmospheric
Research (NCAR). These 0.5 X 0.5 degree latitude/longitude grids contain measured global monthly precipitation grids, corrected monthly precipitation, monthly air temperature, and standard errors for precipitation grids. The input datasets consisted of 17,986
independent land stations and 6,955 ocean grid-point records. The data volume is 83 MB.
