Mechanism study of Dandelion (Pugongying) for lactational mastitis: Microbial assessment using 16S rRNA sequencing

This study aimed to explore the etiology of LM by analyzing the microbial communities of paired affected and healthy milk samples from women diagnosed with unilateral LM. Additionally, milk samples were collected before and after treatment with Pugongying granule and compared with milk samples treated with cefdinir capsule to assess the effects of Pugongying granule on clinical outcomes (e.g., body temperature, visual analogue scale score for breast pain, the percentage of neutrophils) and milk microorganisms.
