Dome Summit South (DSS) snowfall accumulation rate

These data were collected from the drilling site at Dome Summit South (DSS) on Law Dome in East Antarctica. The DSS site is on Law Dome, a prominent ice dome located about 120 km from Casey Station. The site receives a high rate of snow accumulation which helps create a very detailed climate record.A 2000 year snowfall accumulation rate record from the Dome Summit South (DSS), Law Dome, East Antarctica ice core. Based on annual layer thicknesses from trace chemistry and stable water isotope analysis, with corrections for the post depositional thinning of annual layers due to the vertical strain rate. We present data for two alternative vertical strain rate corrections: a power law distribution (our preferred estimate) and a piecewise linear distribution
