LncRNA CHROME regulates the interferon response to viral and bacterial challenge [RNA-Seq]

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are important regulators of the immune response. Here we identify a novel function for the primate-specific lncRNA, CHROME. We established that CHROME is most highly transcribed in human macrophages treated with bacterial lipopolysaccharide and RNA viruses. Overall design: We used three replicate samples of THP cells that were treated with gapmer targeting CHROME compated to three replicate control samples. We repeated this experiment in which we treated the cells with LPS.
