VPRS 12070 Register of Real Estate Agents' Fines

The Real Estate Agents Act 1922 and subsequent amendments provide legal guidelines to which real estate agents in Victoria were required to comply.According to section 24(2) of the Act, failure to comply carried a penalty of:... not more than fifty pounds and ... a further penalty of not more than five pounds for each day on which any such offence is continued after any conviction therefor.This series consists of a register of fines that were paid by real estate agents under these provisions of the Act. The register contains the following details:- Name (of real estate agent)- Court (where agent was convicted and fined)- Amount fined.Occasionally extra information is given regarding a particular case, including references to newspapers in which details were published, and dates when the real estate agent, complainant, and other witnesses were interviewed.
