Gene database of Pyrococcus abyssi GE5

<i>Pyrococcus abyssi </i>is a hyperthermophilic archaeon isolated from deep-sea hydrothermal vents. Anaerobic, motile, Gram-negative, and cocci in shape, the archaeon has an optimal growth temperature of 96 ^oC. This work sought to provide fundamental information about the genetic repertoire of <i>P. abyssi</i> GE5 by parsing its annotated genome sequence downloaded from Genbank. Comprising gene name, gene function, and gene sequence, the resource should be useful for fundamental microbiology studies seeking to understand the genetic toolsets that afford <i>P. abyssi</i> the ability to survive at high temperatures.
