Probing the interplay between the intragroup medium and galaxies with XMM

The success of current galaxy evolution models hinges critically on the role ofAGN and SN feedback. We propose for Xray observations with XMMNewton to study20 galaxy groups in ZENS with known galaxy and AGN populations to test the roleof AGN and galaxy feedback in such models. The proposed XMM Xray data will alsoquantify to what extent the intragroup medium affects galaxy evolution, in theordinary intermediatedensity environment of galaxy groups, through physicalprocesses such as ram pressure and strangulation. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
