资源简介:
Methylation of 16S rRNA confers high level of resistance against many clinically important aminoglycosides (e.g. amikacin, gentamicin). A commonly detected 16S rRNA methylase gene in bacterial isolates belonging to the family Enterobacteriaceae is rmtB. The dissemination of rmtB has been shown to be plasmid-mediated therefore emphasising the importance of monitoring the spread of this gene to ensure human and animal wellbeing. Hybrid assemblies of short- and long-read were used to determine and characterise the mobility of the rmtB harbouring element in Salmonella and commensal E. coli present on a pig farm.
