Gorilla_Reduced_Representation_Sequencing

The gorilla is the closest species to humans apart from the chimpanzee genus, and is itself a highly threatened and fragmented species. In the absence of a fossil record, genetic analysis provides the best opportunity to investigate the relationships of extant gorilla populations and species. The project will generate sequencing data from diverse gorillas and use these to investigate both gorilla population genetics and demography. It will benefit the understanding of the biology and conservation of gorillas.
