Intermediate biodiversity datasets for Spain derived from GBIF, following the “Biodiversidad en Cifras” methodology (I-II)

[Description of methods used for collection/generation of data] Data generation followed the initial stages of the Biodiversidad en Cifras methodology: Step I – Data consultation: retrieval of biodiversity occurrence data for Spain from the GBIF API, filtering by country (ES), presence of geographic coordinates, and absence of geospatial issues. Step II – Validation and cleaning: taxonomic validation, synonym resolution, and consolidation of records to accepted species using the GBIF Backbone Taxonomy. Only Steps I and II were completed for this dataset. Subsequent steps related to thematic synthesis and indicator generation were not included.
