Existing Conditions Report

Land use can be described in two different forms: Future land use Existing land use Future land use represents a planned mix of land uses that embody a desired development pattern within the city. An adopted future land use map reflects where the city anticipates growth; what areas it wants to protect; where the main employment centers, entertainment areas, institutional anchors, and residential areas are located; and which areas are appropriate for a mix of uses and at what intensities. It also serves as a roadmap for future public investment including for new streets, transit, additional parks and open spaces and schools to support the land use vision.
