资源简介:
This dataset accompanies a research manuscript currently under review (or in preparation) investigating the population genomics and pathogenic mechanisms of Photobacterium damselae, a marine pathogen comprising two subspecies: P. damselae subsp. damselae (PDD) and P. damselae subsp. piscicida (PDP). The study integrates whole-genome sequencing, comparative genomics, and population genetic analyses to elucidate the global distribution, evolutionary lineage structure, and virulence gene profiles of this species.Data Content Summary:1. Core Genome SNP Data:A whole-genome SNP matrix derived from 250 globally collected strains, used for fineSTRUCTURE analysis and phylogenetic reconstruction, identifying six major lineages (L1–L6) with distinct geographical distributions.2. Pan-genome and Functional Annotation:Gene presence/absence matrices and functional enrichment results highlighting subspecies-specific gene sets, particularly those involved in metabolism and transport, that differentiate PDD and PDP.3. Genetic Marker Validation Data:Sequence alignments and phylogenetic evidence supporting the ureC gene as a reliable, novel molecular marker for rapid subspecies identification.4. Virulence Gene Profiling:Distribution data for key virulence determinants, including:· The high-virulence-associated plasmid pPHDD1, predominantly found in lineage L1.· The low-virulence phospholipase gene colP, mainly associated with lineages L2 and L4.Scientific Relevance:This dataset provides a foundational genomic resource for understanding the epidemiology, evolution, and pathogenicity of P. damselae. It reveals lineage-dependent virulence patterns and supports future studies in diagnostics, surveillance, and molecular mechanism research.Data Availability Statement:These data are shared in accordance with journal data-sharing policies prior to manuscript publication.
