This study aims to employ transcriptomic (RNA-Seq) approaches to decipher the molecular regulatory mechanisms by which cell-free filtrate of the bacterium DYW7 influences Karenia mikimotoi. By comparing genome-wide expression profiles of algal cells exposed to 0.1% (v/v) filtrate for 12 and 36 hours, we seek to identify key differentially expressed genes and associated signaling pathways involved in the algae-bacteria interaction. The findings will help elucidate the molecular basis through which bacterial metabolites regulate the physiological behavior of this harmful algal bloom species.
