This dataset comprises air temperature and precipitation data collected from 599 meteorological stations across the five Central Asian countries, with the following variables: * Daily maximum temperature, * Daily minimum temperature, * Observed temperature, * Precipitation (i.e., rainfall and melted snow). The data covers the following time periods: 1980–1986; 1996–2005; 2010; 2014; 2015.

This dataset is sourced from GHCN-D, a global land-based daily observational dataset that compiles climate records (officially known as GHCN-Daily).

The data consists of directly measured surface temperatures, without requiring interpolation or model-based assumptions, and includes numerous long-term station records. A key limitation of this dataset is its uneven spatial coverage; additionally, the records contain multiple inconsistencies due to variations in observation times, station locations, and the types of thermometers used.
