APIFLAMEv2 biomass burning emissions in Europe during the Summer 2016

APIFLAME biomass burning emissions for the case of the Summer of 2016 in Europe, including large fires in Portugal in August. The dataset includes burned area estimated based on the MODIS fire observations observations (MCD64, MOD14) using the APIFLAMEv2 software. Two datasets are provided. AB_FRP_MODIS includes ascii files of burned area at 500m resolution (MODIS MCD64) and fire radiative power (FRP) at 1km resolution (MODIS MOD14). AB_FRP_MODIS_GRIDDED provides netcdf files with gridded (10km) estimates of burned area, FRP maximum, FRP distribution, and potential burned area from small fires (non coincident active fires and burned scars). The corresponding emissions are provided for the CHIMERE MELCHIOR chemical scheme (http://www.lmd.polytechnique.fr/chimere/). Emissions calculated using different configurations of the APIFLAMEv2 are provided, with the corresponding parameter files. Experiments are briefly described in the readme file.
