This dataset contains field images collected for the study “Temporal genetic architecture of iron deficiency–induced chlorosis in dry-direct seeded rice”. The images document rice seedlings from a diverse subset of the Oryza sativa 3K panel grown under control and iron-deficient dry-direct seeding (DSR) conditions at the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI). Images were captured at three developmental stages (15, 28, and 45 days after sowing) and represent 2,232 individual plots, spanning multiple beds and experimental replicates. Each image corresponds to a unique genotype × environment × timepoint combination and was used as input to a computer vision pipeline that quantified continuous chlorosis severity scores. These scores were integrated with field visual ratings (FVR) and SPAD chlorophyll measurements for downstream phenotypic and genetic analyses. Images are organized by treatment and timepoint, with filenames and accompanying metadata linking each image to accession ID, subpopulation, experimental block, and phenotyping traits. The dataset enables reproducibility of the computer-vision phenotyping workflow and supports reuse for method development, benchmarking, and training of plant stress detection models. This dataset is shared under an open license to facilitate reuse in plant phenotyping, stress physiology, and crop improvement research.
