Dataset of Cyber Resilience and Online Social Network (OSN) Usage Among Generation Z Users in Indonesia: A Cross-Sectional Survey

This article presents a comprehensive dataset on cyber resilience and Online Social Network (OSN) usage behavior among Generation Z users in Indonesia. The data were collected as part of a doctoral dissertation aimed at developing a cyber resilience enhancement model for Generation Z OSN users. The data were gathered through a structured online questionnaire survey conducted between October 8 and November 11, 2025, involving 451 respondents predominantly aged 18–29 years (88.9%) across 108 cities/regencies in Indonesia. The questionnaire comprises 93 items organized into eight sections: (A) socio-demographic characteristics, (B) OSN usage patterns, (C) cybersecurity policy and strategy perception (16 items), (D) cyber culture and public awareness (14 items), (E) cybersecurity education and training (12 items), (F) legal and regulatory framework (12 items), (G) security technology and platform features (7 items), and (H) personal cybersecurity practices and resilience behaviors (17 items). The constructs were derived from a systematic literature review and thematic analysis using the Cybersecurity Capacity Maturity Model for Nations (CMM) framework developed by the Global Cyber Security Capacity Centre (GCSCC), University of Oxford. The dataset enables researchers to examine relationships between policy, cultural, educational, legal, and technological dimensions of cybersecurity and their influence on individual cyber resilience practices.
