Monitoring Program at Lake Llanquihue - Raw Dataset

Project Initiative The scientific project on Lake Llanquihue is a unique initiative for the Los Lagos region. In partnership with the salmon company AquaChile, the University of California Davis, and the technology company INNOVEX, three monitoring buoys equipped with temperature and dissolved oxygen sensors were installed, providing real-time data accessible through an online platform. The project aims to evaluate contaminant movement in the lake and, in the future, to understand how it will be affected by climate change and land-use changes. Among other public stakeholders, the program is supported by the Ministry of the Environment. Here is a short video that explains what the project is about https://vimeo.com/530350973/31ba1e68e6 Dataset Description This dataset contains raw field observations of water temperature and dissolved oxygen collected at three buoy stations in Lake Llanquihue, Chile. Data were acquired using sensors at discrete depths, with each depth reported in a separate tab within each file. No quality control, filtering, or corrections have been applied. Thus, users must perform independent quality checks, screening, and validation before using the data for reporting, regulatory submissions, decision-making, or scientific interpretation. The data providers assume no responsibility for errors, omissions, or misinterpretations arising from the use of the raw files.
