资源简介:
This study investigated how leadership styles (autocratic, democratic, and laissez-faire) influence IT employees' organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) and turnover intention. OCB refers to discretionary employee behaviors that are not explicitly recognized by the formal reward system but that promote the effective functioning of the organization (Organ, 1988). The data was collected using a cross-sectional quantitative correlational design with 102 employees aged 21 to 65 with a minimum of one year of experience. The relationship between laissez-faire leadership and OCB was moderately correlated. Significant differences in turnover intention by income categories were found, indicating that financial considerations are significant determinants of retention decisions. Findings suggest that laissez-faire leadership, with its potential to promote a collaborative culture, increases OCB and decreases turnover intention, offering hope for improving retention. However, the study is limited to a small sample, and the need for further research with a larger, more diverse sample size is urgent and essential.
