Amomum tsaoko flavonoids were found to reduce the relative abundance of conditional pathogens, including Escherichia-Shigella, Colidextribacter, and Oscillibacter, while increasing the abundance of potentially probiotic taxa such as Akkermansia, Bifidobacterium, and unclassified_f__Atopobiaceae in mice with DSS-induced ulcerative colitis. Notably, these genera exhibited significant correlations with key phenotypic indicators of ulcerative colitis. These findings suggest that Amomum tsaoko flavonoids may alleviate ulcerative colitis symptoms through modulation of the gut microbiota.
