Contamination of foodborne E. coli carrying multidrug resistance genes in retail meat poses a potential threat to human health. The aims of present study are to investigative the prevalence of important antimicrobial resistance genes of E. coli from Chicken meat and pork meat, determine the genetic environment of plasmid-mediated tet(X4) and mcr-1 genes and reveal evolutionary relationships of isolates.
