Annual U.S. Vulcan Anthropogenic Heat Flux data product, 1km grid and city totals

Here we present “Vulcan-AHF”, an annual, high-resolution, sector-specific AHF for the U.S. It is derived from the FFCO2 emissions outcomes of the Vulcan v4.0 Scope 1 and Vulcan v1.0 Scope 2 results. Vulcan-AHF data is produced at high granularity while maintaining sector specificity. AHF aggregates at the city scale are produced from asset-resolved, sector-specific data (point, line, and polygon resolution). Moreover, sector-specific activity data is used where downscaling is needed. In addition, we separate building AHF into Scope 1 AHF from heating fuel combustion and Scope 2 AHF from electricity consumption. Finally, Vulcan-AHF is comprehensive for the U.S.
