Analysis of forestry effects on Pacific salmon in Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw territory and across coastal BC. Water Quality Data.

This dataset contains continuous water temperature measurements from salmon-bearing watersheds in Musgamagw Dzawada'enuxw territory (Broughton Archipelago region of British Columbia). The data were collected as part of a collaborative monitoring program between Ecofish Research Ltd. (ERL), Salmon Coast Society (SCS), and the Musgamagw Dzawada'enuxw Fisheries Group Society (MDFGS). Monitoring stations were established in eleven rivers (Mackenzie River, Embley Creek, Kingcome River, Lahlah River, Ahta (Hada) River, Satsalla River, Clearwater River, Atlatzi River, Wahpeeto Creek, Wakeman River and Atwaykellesse River) in the territory to assess the cumulative effects of forest harvesting and climate change on salmon populations in these watersheds. Water temperature was measured at 15-minute intervals using ONSET Hobo TidbiT v2 sensors starting summer 2023, as part of a broader hydrometric and water quality monitoring network consisting of eleven stations across the region.
