Epidemiological studies suggest a potential link between osteoarthritis (OA) and diabetes mellitus (DM) despite unclear molecular mechanisms.A greater understanding of the mechanisms that link OA and DM is needed to identify therapeutic targets in diabetic individuals who develop OA.The results of this study are expected to provide potential early warning markers and therapeutic targets for future research and provide new insights into the biological relationship between DM and OA.
