Global Compilation of Lake Sediment–Dated Organic Carbon Burial Records

This dataset compiles 723 site-level observations of lake organic carbon burial rates derived from dated sediment cores worldwide. All data were extracted from published literature and harmonized to a consistent unit of grams of carbon per square meter per year (g C m⁻² yr⁻¹). Each record includes geographic coordinates and reported burial rate. This compilation provides a foundational reference dataset for global assessments of lake carbon burial and related modeling studies.
