JL974 is the ampicillin resistant derivative of C. jejuni NCTC 11168. It acquired the ampicillin resistant phenotype from the ampicillin resistant strain C. jejuni 21190. To investigate the genetic mechanism, the genome of JL974 was sequenced using 454 GS FLX sequencing technology. Comparative genomics analysis was performed to identify the underneath reason.
